Yifan obtained his B.S. in Chemistry at Fudan University where he began research in battery materials with Prof. Aishui Yu. He then pursued his graduate research at the Pennsylvania State University co-advised by Prof. Raymond E. Schaak and Prof. Mauricio Terrones. His doctoral research focused on colloidal nanostructures of transition-metal dichalcogenides. Upon graduation, Yifan conducted his postdoctoral work with Prof. Sheng Dai at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, focusing on design and synthesis of complex oxide nanomaterials for enhanced thermal catalysis. In December 2021, Yifan joined the Frontiers Science Center for Transformative Molecules at Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a tenure-track associate professor and independent PI.

孙轶凡博士，国家和上海市海外高层次青年人才项目入选者，上海交通大学变革性分子前沿科学中心课题组长，长聘教轨副教授，博士生导师。2013年本科毕业于复旦大学化学系（导师：余爱水），获学士学位。2018年于美国宾夕法尼亚州立大学化学系获博士学位（导师：Raymond E. Schaak和Mauricio Terrones），从事二维过渡金属硫族化合物胶体纳米结构的研究。2018-2021年在美国橡树岭国家实验室从事博士后研究工作（导师：Sheng Dai），从事多元金属氧化物纳米晶体的研究。在Nat. Chem.，Nat. Synth.，Sci. Adv.，J. Am. Chem. Soc.，Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.，ACS Cent. Sci.和Acc. Chem. Res.等期刊发表论文30余篇，并长期担任Nat. Commun.，Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.，ACS Nano，Energy Environ. Sci.和ACS Energy Lett.等期刊的审稿人。主持国家自然科学基金、上海市科委和上海交通大学医工交叉研究基金等项目，曾获上海市领军人才计划（海外）、上海市扬帆计划、国家优秀自费留学生奖学金和复旦大学本科优秀毕业生等奖励和荣誉。
